Made from high quality Keller hard rock maple shells, Evans heads (EMAD Batter and EQ3 Resonant) heads and nice hardware. Available in clear maple, ebony, burnt orange or red mahogany finish. The 18″ Travel Bass Drum is great for Jazz, R & B and the 20″ Travel Bass Drum works with those plus the Rock genres also. Start with the bass drum and add toms now or later. I wanna start out by saying Jim and side kick drums have exceptional customer service in all regards. Cheers! That said I purchased a 12×18 red mohagany travel kick a little over a year ago and couldn’t be happier. I mean its a Keller shell, we know there are bigger companies that use the same shells and charge an arm and leg for em. Sidekicks drum sounds as good if not better, for a very affordable highly functional instrument. This bass drum continues to turn heads gig after gig, and is breaking in excellent…So good that I’m having matching toms made for a full small kit. I can’t recommend this bass drum enough. Extremely happy with the tone and punch of this 12 X 18 travel bass drum. Well made and lightweight. The optional DW rail mount works perfectly for my exiting 10 inch DW tom. I had a few questions about sizes and the positioning of the rail mount to which Jim was very responsive and great to work with. Very pleased with the instrument as well as the customer service. Highly recommended!

I have a 16” x 10”. The tone is beautiful. Sweet resonance, breaks nicely. And it stays in tune well. Good heartbeat.

Review:
I just got a 14″x18″ clear maple kick drum from Sidekick. I have been a drummer my whole life played in numerous bands, toured… you name it. I now play with acoustic musicians with a paired down kit (Snare, Kick, Hat). This kick is perfect. The tone is great and the volume is not overpowering. It is light weight and easy to get around. It is the smallest you can go and not need a riser (risers seem to always create a odd kick pedal angle unless you are willing to modify the rim). I could not be happier. Thank you Jim for the communication, the speed and the great new kick’ I’ll probably have to order a matching floor tom soon.
